  1. Don’t go into their fridges to help yourself, ASK first.
  2. Their stores weren’t stocked for your visit only, other guests will come after you so don’t finish the stock in the store.
  3. Don’t leave your hosts house like tornado went through it, this is not your mama/papas house so tread with care.
  4. Changing TV settings, using home computers etc are not part of the deal, you should have stayed at home to use yours.
  5. Greeting your host or hostess at arrival and departure is an absolute must.
  6. Leaving the space you occupied as good or better than you met it is expected.
  7. Don’t “borrow” stuff without asking.
  8. If you’ve been an overnight guest clean out the room you stayed in. Strip the beddings, empty the bin, keep the bathroom use ready for the next guest.
  9. If you’ve been a long stay house guest leave a thank you note at least and if you can afford it a small gift showing your appreciation.
  10. Use a lot of please, thank you and may I.
